BEDCO was founded in June, 2013 by a unique group of experts and educators and other intellectuals. Its establishment came a time when Somalia communities were under chaotic and anarchy situation and isolated environment matter, artisanal fisheries and neglected the community coastal settlements. As we have a good experience and capacity related ocean, (Red Sea the Gulf of Aden), fishery development activities and needs of protection to an environmental destruction. In finally we agreed as voluntary to establish Blue Economy Development Company to cover most of above mentioned marine and fishery challenges in Somalia.

This above mentioned company which abbreviated as (BEDCO) is local non-governmental, non-political. Its technical supporters and consultants are developing and engaging improvement of the safe ocean, marine environment, energy issues, fish species and fisheries through promotion of its development and environmental damage protection. It also includes  the support to increase fish catchments production in Somalia, and finding better solution for coastal community with income generation programs.
