Objectives

  • To release the potential of the coastal settled community and develop the standard of their livelihoods and by tackling the basic problems facing the lives of the community in the sustainable and participatory approach.
  • To improve the capacity of BEDCO staff, Local administrations and its related stakeholders.
  • To protect and reduce the environmental hazardous that faces to the nature in the targeted areas to get better environment with adequate marine ecosystem protection.
  • To improve the socio-economic status of both marine areas and urban coastal settled communities, and work out to create sustainable source of income.
  • To mobilize and give awareness the fisheries community before the implementation of the required consulting projects.
  • To collect data and information regarding the needs and the challenges of the marine and fishery community’s needs.
  • To build the peace and stability in the country, BEDCO will create Job opportunities for many young Somali gender balanced for men and women during the implementation of the consulting group of company activities.
  • To promote sustainable fishery production technologies ensuring improved food security and reduction of food aid dependency level in Somalia.
  • To increase access for education at all marine and fishery levels including skills and vocational training.
  • To promote sustainable community based natural resource management and integrated livelihood diversification to improve the long term resilience of the fisheries community.
  • To promote good governance and gender equitability with special focus on women/girls empowerment and eliminations of all forms of gender violence against women.
